Tehran, Aug 21, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale hit outskirts of Yasouj in Kohkiloyeh and Boyer Ahmad province Sunday afternoon.
The seismological center affiliated to Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, said in a statement that the quake occurred at 16:15 hours local time (11:45 GMT) Sunday.
The quake was registered in an area located in 51.57 degrees latitude and 30.56 degrees longitude, the report added.
There are no reports of damage to property or life caused by the tremble.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
