Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA-A morning paper here Saturday commented on preserving national solidarity and urged Iran's new government to uphold the lofty notion of ensuring equal rights to all provinces and ethnic groups.
Noting that "Iran is a motherland of all Iranians," Iran Daily said the new government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad must take it into consideration that participation of all ethnic groups and religious minorities in the government "is the only way to ensure economic and political justice."
The English-language daily also added, "Giving due consideration to historical, social and cultural issues can help consolidate national solidarity."
Welcoming the new government's emphasis on rendering socioeconomic justice, the editorial said, "Fair distribution of wealth among people, ...and equitable allocation of resources and facilities to all provinces in proportion to their population also reinforce the spirit of national solidarity."
Iran Daily drew President Ahmadinejad's attention to the significance of preserving national solidarity urging him to provide all ethnic and religious groups with the opportunities "to hold top managerial posts".
"This can give them the feeling that authorities are serious about establishing socioeconomic and political justice, ...and is the only way to ensure economic and political justice," stressed the paper.
It further urged the new government to "take the sociopolitical sensitivities of its citizens into account and find ways of encouraging their participation in state affairs."
