Tehran, Aug 29, IRNA-Iran breezed past South Korea 3-0 to advance to the last eight of the 2005 Youth Boys' Under-19 World Volleyball Championship in Algiers, capital of Algeria, Sunday.

The Iranian side, which had given Korea a straight-set defeat in the recent Asian meet in Tehran, won the deciding match 25-20 25-19 25-23.

Russia and France handed Iran 3-0 defeats in the first two preliminary Pool D clashes, but the Asian powerhouse fought back to beat Tunisia 3-2 before the Korean test, keeping its hopes alive.

The world event started on August 24 and will run through September 1.
