United Nations, Aug 30, IRNA-Iran's Representative to the United Nations Mohammad-Javad Zarif was elected as member of 30-nation panel to hold final deliberations on UN reform plan.
UN General Assembly President Jean Ping said that a group of 30 nations will be elected from member states for deliberations about final draft on preparing UN reform document to be presented to World Summit due to be held in New York in September.
All UN member states have done their utmost to be included in the group thanks to the importance and sensitivity of the UN reform plan.
Notwithstanding the opposition from certain states in the UN, Iran's permanent representative to the UN was elected to member the 30-nations group and will attend the deliberations.
Malaysia as head of NAM, Pakistan as ECOSOC head, Japan, as the second financial supplier of UN, China, a UN permanent member, India and South Korea will be among the members of the 30-nations group.
The European Union troika (Austria, Luxembourg and Britain), NAM trio (Malaysia, Cuba and South Africa), African trio (Mozambique, Morocco and Morris), Lebanon as Arab group, Algeria, Egypt, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, USA, Russia, China and France are other members of the group for deliberations on UN reform plan.
According to the UN analysts, other Islamic states will take advantage of Iran's presence in the panel to express their viewpoints for reform plan of the United Nations.
