Tehran, Aug 31, IRNA-Iran handed Poland a straight-set defeat in the 2005 Youth Boys' Under-19 World Volleyball Championship in Algiers, capital of Algeria, Wednesday.

The Iranian side, which presented the semifinal berth to Italy Tuesday, thrashed the Poles 25-21 25-17 25-19.

The winner of France-Slovakia match will array against Iran for the fifth title Thursday.

Iran conceded two 3-0 losses in its first two clashes against Russia and France, but the Asian powerhouse clawed its way to the quarters with 3-2 and 3-0 victories over Tunisia and South Korea respectively.
