All those on board an Iranian military C-130 transport plane which crashed in southern Tehran today were killed.
The plan with 94 people on board crashed in the township of Tohid in Tehran on Tuesday. The crash occurred at 14:10 local time (10:40 GMT). The area is close to Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport, which handles domestic, international and military flights.
The head of Public Relations Office of Air Force Colonel Mahini said that 86 burnt bodies and six wounded were taken to Shariat Razavi hospital and 20 bodies and 10 wounded to Fayyaz Bakhsh hospital.
The military transport plane known as "Hercules" was carrying journalists and photographers to Bandar Abbas in southern Hormuzgan province for coverage of a military exercise in the southern Iranian port city.
The plane crashed into a 10-story building in an Air Force residential township as the pilot tried to make an emergency landing after facing a technical problem immediately after takeoff from Mehrabad International Airport.
