NGO's Collaborate to Create Online Resource for Internships in Iran

Washington, D.C., -- Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB), in partnership with Iranian Studies Group (ISG), is proud to announce the launch of Project Connection (  Project Connection is the first internet-based resource guide of internship and volunteer opportunities in Iran targeted specifically to second-generation Iranians in the diaspora who are looking for opportunities to intern/volunteer in the service of Iranian civil society. “I wish this guide existed when I was planning my trip to Iran in 2002. For second generation Iranians without personal connections in their fields and areas of interest in Iran, this guide is priceless,” says Nikoo Paydar of IAAB.  The resource guide will also be useful for NGOs, universities, and businesses in Iran seeking interested members of the diaspora to work for their organizations.

Project Connection contains a database of various organizations, university departments, and businesses in Iran that are looking for bright and enthusiastic interns and volunteers.  In addition to helping individuals find such opportunities, Project Connection provides invaluable information on planning for travel to Iran, preparing for listed internships, and tips on living and working in Iran.

IAAB and ISG have collaborated on Project Connection with the common goal of building a bridge between second-generation Iranians in the diaspora and Iranian civil society. By providing information regarding internship/volunteer opportunities for young Iranians, Project Connection seeks to create partnerships among Iranian institutions, schools and non-profit organizations within Iran and abroad. According to IAAB’s Narges Bajoghli, “working in Iran this past year was an amazing experience. This guide makes it possible for more second generation Iranians to have similar opportunities through a centralized database of internship/volunteer opportunities.”
