TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (Mehr News Agency) -- The Momayyez Foundation, which is currently being set up in Tehran, will announce its goals, strategy, and principles in January, the Persian service of ISNA announced on Tuesday.
In line with the will of graphic artist Morteza Momayyez, Afsaneh Momayyez, Shapur Manuchehri, Aidin Aghdashlu, Abbas Kiarostami, Ebrahim Haqiqi, Mostafa Asadollahi, and Amrollah Farhadi will be the members of the board of trustees of the foundation.
Farhadi explained that Momayyez used to archive his works and notes carefully, so the location and details of most of his works are known, and the rest will be documented via a call for papers soon.
According to Farhadi, the works which Momayyez had given to his brother Javad, who resides in the United States, and to others, will be returned to the foundation.
The foundation also plans to establish a Momayyez museum, publish his works, dedicate an award in his name, support academic research works, and hold graphic competitions.
Momayyez died of prostate cancer on November 26 in Tehran. He was regarded as the father of graphic design in Iran and was the chairman of the board of directors of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society from 1988 to 2004.
