Gorgan, Golestan Prov, Dec 15, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale shook the city of Agh Ghalaei in Golestan province Thursday noon.
According to he Gorgan Seismological Network affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 12:11 hours local time (08:41 GMT).
The tremor was felt in an area measuring 54.61 degrees in longitude and 37.21 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There is no report of any casualty or damage to property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
