Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit the city of Bojnourd in the northeastern province of North Khorassan in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to the Qouchan Seismological Network affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 03:41 hours local time (00:11 GMT).
The tremor was felt in an area measuring 57.30 degrees in longitude and 37.85 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines.
