Tehran, Dec 26, IRNA-Two earthquakes measuring 3.8 and 4 on the Richter scale jolted the city of Bagh-Malek in the southwestern province of Khuzestan Monday morning.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quakes occurred at 07:45 hours local time (0415 GMT) and 03:44 hours (0014 GMT), respectively.
The report added the area hit by the tremors measured 49.92 degrees in longitude and 31.57 degrees in latitude, for the first quake, and 49.96 degrees in longitude and 31.66 degrees in latitude for the second one.
Meanwhile, another earthquake with the intensity of 4 on the Richter scale shook the city of Izeh in the same province in the wee hours of Monday.
The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, registered the quake at 01:09 hours local time (2139 GMT Sunday).
The quake was felt in an area measuring 49.88 degrees in longitude and 21.81 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quakes.
Quakes of varying magnitudes often occur in Iran, which is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
