Kabul, Dec 27, IRNA-Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki who visited Afghanistan at the head of a high-ranking delegation left the Afghan capital of Kabul for Tehran on Tuesday afternoon.
During his two-day visit to Afghanistan, Mottaki conferred separately with senior Afghan officials including first vice president, foreign minister, speakers of Melli Shura (National Assembly) and Senate on matters of mutual concern.
During the visit, the Iranian foreign minister was accompanied by a member of Majlis presiding board, Hojatoleslam Moussa Qorbani.
Meanwhile, a consular agreement was signed between the foreign ministers of both countries during the visit.
At present, 2,000 visas are issued daily for Afghan citizens at Iranian embassies in Kabul, Kandahar, Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif.
Mottaki invited Afghan President Hamid Karzai and speaker of the National Assembly to visit Iran on behalf of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Majlis speaker, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel and Hojatoleslam Qorbani.
The officials of both states termed the outcome of the visit as favorable and successful.
