Berlin, Feb 5, IRNA -- The chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Parliament, Volker Ruehe, and his deputy, Hans-Ulrich Klose, are scheduled to visit Iran later this month for political talks with Iranian officials.
A legislator for the opposition Christian Democrats, Ruehe and Klose, a Social Democratic lawmaker, will embark on the Iran trip from February 28 through March 3, a spokesman for Ruehe's office told IRNA Friday evening.
Discussions will focus mainly on foreign policy questions, the situation in Iraq, the state of EU-Iran ties and, of course, the Iran nuclear issue, according to the spokesperson.
The German officials are planning to meet with Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Hassan Rowhani, Majlis Speaker Haddad Adel as well as MPs of the 7th Majlis and former legislators of the 6th Majlis.
