New Internet Radio for Persian Music
By Pejman Akbarzadeh, (Member of Artists Without Frontiers)
Source: Tavoos Online

Siroos Malakooty (guitar soloist and founder of Artists Without Frontiers in London) and Mahmoud Khoshnam (music critic living in Germany) have founded a new Internet Radio with the goal of analysis of different aspects of Persian Music.

This Internet Radio (www.radioaida.com) consists of five main parts:
1-     Articles. At present the following articles can be found here: "In the Domain of Music," "What is Art? Who is Artist?" "Introduction of History of Music," "In the Memory of Heshmat Sanjari" and "Introduction of Music and Musicians under Fascism."
2-     News. Prepared by Radio Aida and also taken from other news sources.
3-     Criticism and Analysis. There is only one article in this section at the moment, but the radio invites musicians, critics and scholars (no matter what their personal tastes and trends may be) to participate here.
4-     Interviews. At the moment this section contains three interviews with Behzad Ranjbaran, Reza Vali and Kiawasch Saheb Nassagh.
5-     Chamber of Men of Art. It contains two articles "The National Day of Cinema in Behram Beyzaee's Point of View" and "Mehrangiz Rasampour: M. Pegah" and also a news section. This part does not exclusively deal with music.

According to Siroos Malakooty and Mahmoud Khoshnam: "Radio Aida wishes to fill the present gap in relation to Persian music and aspires to introduce avant garde music particularly in relation to young people. It will open its main window to Persian Music and will passionately broadcast the works by pioneer Persian (Iranian) musicians. No doubt that it will not limit itself to this, but will also try to analyze and criticize the music broadcasted. In addition, it will not deal only with Persian Music, but will cover the world music, as Persia is a part of the world and even if this radio wishes, it can not keep itself outside the world and what is going on in it…"

On the front page of the electronic Radio Aida, there is a link that if you click on it, you can listen to an hour music accompanied with related introductory, analytical discussions and critic.

Among other internet radios dedicated to Persian Music we can refer to Darvish Radio (www.radiodarvish.com) founded by the efforts of Afshin Toluee which mainly deals with one of the greatest figures of Persian Music, Darvish Khan.
