In the expo, more than 70 maps dating as far back as the year 1500 AD were presented, the oldest one, 500 years old, had the name of "Persian Gulf" on it.
The expo has been organized in different sections. In the first section there are historical maps of the Persian gulf and a collection of European cartographers' works who have drawn the Persian gulf map in different manners.
In the second section a collection of maps done by Iranian cartographers and geographers has been put on display.
Also tens of research documents and historical maps implicating the historical name of " Persian Gulf" are presented.
Some original copies of historical maps are also presented in the expo which bear names like: Persicus Sinus, Gulf Persique, Persian Gulf etc. in same line.
The expo will be open for public from Wednesday January 5 to Friday Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. 1391/2329/1432
