The scholarship applications for the academic year 2005-2006 are now available at www.iranianscholarships.org. For the past eighth years a total of 39 scholarships have been awarded.

These scholarships are avaiable to qualifying Iranian American students attending universities and colleges throughout Southern California. We recommend that applicants make certain that their attending institute is within Southern California region.

Deadline for application submission is April 15, 2005 - post marked.

Background

The Iranian American Scholarship Fund is a national, non-profit 501(c) 3, non political and non-religious organization. Founded in San Diego, California in 1998.

This Fund will support undergraduate and graduate Iranian American students, who exhibit financial need, as well as academic excellence.

To date, 39 scholarships have been awarded to undergraduate and graduate students attending three major universities in San Diego. It is important to note that the students who have received these scholarships have come to San Diego from various locations within California, as well as other states and Canada.

Beginning with the 2005-2006 academic year, the scope of scholarship awards will be extended to the universities and colleges in Southern California region. This will be followed by expansion for 2006-2007 to the State of California and 2007-2008 awards will become national.
