Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the conference on promoting investment in water projects, he added that a memorandum of understanding had been inked by the energy ministers of both countries on export of water from Iran to Kuwait.
"According to Article 14 of the agreement, if the relevant legal formalities which are required to make it valid are not completed within a year from the date of its signing, the document will lose its legal validity.
"The one-year validity of the MoU expired on December 12 since the legal formalities including its approval by the government, Majlis and the Guardians Councils were not completed. The document was just examined by Majlis commissions," he added.
Ardakanian said that the license for export of bottled water has been approved by the relevant authorities and added that this will facilitate investment in the sector.
"The ministries of energy, health and medical treatment, industries and mines as well as the department of environment will cooperate in this respect," he concluded.
