According to the seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 15:35 hours local time (12:05 GMT).
There are no reports of damage to property or life caused by the quake.

Ilam, Jan 25, IRNA -- An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the open-ended Richter scale shook the outskirts of Saleh Abad city in this western province on Wednesday morning.
According to the provincial seismological base affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 09:08 hours local time (05.38 GMT).
There were no reports of any damage to property caused by the quake.
Two earlier earthquakes measuring 4.2 and 4.6 on the open-ended Richter scale shook the city on Tuesday at 03:33 (00.03 GMT) and 15:09 hours local time (11:39 GMT), respectively.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines and quakes of varying magnitudes are usual occurrences.
