Tehran, 29 Jan, IRNA -- Prominent Iranian filmmaker, Pouran
Derakhshandeh, said in Tehran on Saturday the annual Fajr International Film
Festival is an appropriate opportunity for young filmmakers.

Derakhshandeh added the young generation has offered the 23rd
edition valuable films.
"The festival is a unique opportunity for competition among
well-known filmmakers and young cinematographers," she said, adding
the 10-day event helps Iranian cinema keep going.
Derakhshandeh, who is a member of the festival's Selection Board,
voiced her satisfaction with diversity of films in this year's
festival.
She termed as necessary the heed to local and national cinema in
the festival, calling for more attention to such products.
Derakhshandeh, who is the director of "Small Bird of Happiness",
"Love Without Border", and "A Candle in the Wind", referred to the
economic aspects of the festival and said it will help the products
make money in cinemas.
The festival is held annually during the Ten-Day Dawn (January
31-February 10) in Tehran.
