Earthquake again hits devastated Bam in southeastern Iran
Bam, Kerman Prov, Jan 30, IRNA -- An earthquake measuring 4 on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the southeastern city of Bam and its surrounding vicinity at noon Sunday.

The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University located the epicenter of the tremor at 180 km south of the provincial capital, Kerman, on an area measuring 28/90 latitude and 58/37 longitude.

The quake struck at 12:59 hours local time (09:29 GMT). There were no reports of any casualty or damage, the institute added.

On December 26, 2003 the city of Bam was almost leveled by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake. It is still under reconstruction with domestic and foreign assistance.

Over 30,000 residents were killed and many others left homeless by the killer earthquake of 2003.
