Kuala Lumpur, Jan 30, IRNA -- Hassan Maleki and Mehdi Sohrabi from
Iran stood first and second at the second stage of international cycling
tournament, Langkawi Tour, in Malaysia Saturday.
Ali Zangiabadi, who is heading the Iranian team, told IRNA that
the country won the second stage in both Asian individual and team
competitions.
He added Maleki and Sohrabi pedaled 171.6 km in 4:08.02 hours,
ranking first and second respectively.
According to Zangiabadi, Ali Lotfi from Malaysia's Proton team
finished third.
Iran had also won the first stage in individual and team
categories.
The 10-stage Langkawi Tour started on Jan 28 and will run through
Feb 6.
According to Iranian Cycling Federation, the cyclists pedal
1,282.6 km in the Malaysian event.
Iran comprises Qader Mizbani, Ahad Kazemi, Hossein Asgari, Alireza
Haqi, Mehdi Sohrabi, Hassan Maleki, and Seyed Mo'ezzeddin Seyed
Rezaei.
German manager Wolfram Linder, coach Majid Nasseri, head of the
team, Ali Zangiabadi, mechanic Esmaeil Zeyn'ali are accompanying the
cyclists.
