Quake shakes Bandar Abbas in southern Iran

Tehran, July 3, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the open-ended Richter scale hit the city of Bandar Abbas capital of the southern province of Hormuzgan Saturday morning.

The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, recorded the tremor at 08:05 hours local time (0335 GMT).

There is no reports of damage to properties caused by the quake, the report said.

Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
