Tehran, July 4, IRNA-A mild earthquake measuring 3.8 on the open-ended Richter scale hit Bandar Jask in the southern province of Hormuzgan Sunday evening.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, recorded the tremor at 22:24 hours local time (1754 GMT).
The tremor was epicentered in an area 35.79 degrees in latitude and 58.26 degrees in longitude, the base added.
There were no reports of any damage to properties caused by the quake.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
