Iran Tehran, July 12, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the open-ended Richter scale hit the city of Khoy in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, said the quake occurred at 01:35 hours local time (2105 GMT on Monday).
There was no report of damage to properties caused by the tremble, said the base.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
