Tehran, July 17, IRNA-Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said in Tehran on Sunday that if Europe's proposal does not enshrine uranium enrichment it will not be acceptable to Iran.
In response to a question on Iran's nuclear dossier and the likelihood of Iran giving up uranium enrichment, he ruled out such a possibility and said "in this case we will take our decision." such rather, we take our own decision", he told reporters in response The foreign minister made the remarks on the sidelines of the International Conference on United Nations Reforms held at the site of Foreign Ministry's Institute for Political and International Studies.
Britain, France, Germany are going to offer a package of economic and political incentives to Tehran next month if Iran gives up uranium enrichment activities.
"The details of the proposal have not been disclosed yet. We are in contact with the Europeans and we are to hold a meeting to discuss the proposal," he noted.
The enrichment and nuclear issue is not dependent on governments but is related solely to the system and the decision to be taken by the highest ranking authorities of the country.
He underlined that the policies of the country will not undergo any change after the next government takes office.
In response to a question whether he will retain his post in the cabinet of President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, he stressed that his 8-year tenure is enough and that it would be better for the youth to undertake such a responsibility.
However, he stressed that the members of Iran's negotiating team will not be replaced as they are qualified experts.
"In diplomacy, there is no room for pessimism or optimism. The realities should be taken into consideration and that we have to wait for their report," he said in response to a question whether he was pessimist or optimist about the nuclear negotiations with the EU-3 -- France, Britain and Germany.
Britain, France and Germany have promised to come up with a proposal by the end of this month that could make or break a lengthy diplomatic process.
