Tehran, July 18, IRNA-A mild earthquake measuring 3.4 on the open-ended Richter scale hit the city of Kazeroun in the southern province of Fars Monday morning.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, recorded the quake at 07:44 hours local time (0314 GMT).
The tremor was felt in Kazeroun outskirts, located in 29.30 latitude and 51.92 longitude, the base said.
Kazeroun lies 160km west of provincial capital Shiraz.
There were no reports of damage to properties caused by the tremble, the base added.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
