Tehran, July 26, IRNA-Wives of foreign diplomats in Tehran have recently held a charity bazaar in favor of the poor and needy families, an English-language daily reported in Tehran on Tuesday.
Wives of ambassadors from the CIS countries, including Georgia, Kazakhstan and Russia participated in the bazaar which was held at the site of the Kazakhstan Embassy in Tehran, said 'Iran News' daily.
Organized by the Diplomatic Ladies Group, the bazaar put on display national foods and handicrafts of the participating states.
It aimed at showing "spiritual affinity of people," the paper quoted wife of the Kazakhstan ambassador in Tehran.
She added that all Tehran-based foreign diplomats and members of their families supported promotion of "good neighborly relations, development of mutual relations and cultural exchanges."
According to the paper the raised fund would be spent by the Diplomatic Ladies Group to help poor families and also would be given to hospitals to cover the medical costs of the needy patients.
