Tehran, July 28, IRNA-A mild earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale hit the city of Bandar Lengeh in the southern province of Hormuzgan in the wee hours of Thursday.
The seismological base of Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, recorded the quake at 01:32 hours local time (2102 GMT Wednesday).
The tremor was felt in the city's outskirts, located in 27.17 latitude and 54.74 longitude, the base said.
There were no reports of damage to properties caused by the quake, added the report.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
