Tokyo, July 30, IRNA-Iran ranked second at the Asian 16-17 freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling events held in Oarai, some 100 km northeast of Tokyo, on July 28-29.
The Iranian team grabbed five golds, one silver, and one bronze, winning 80 points, four shy of champion Kazakhstan's.
Japan took the third title on 62 points and the fourth spot went to Iraq with a 61-point asset.
India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Uzbekistan pitted their wrestlers at the Asian tournament.
Iran also finished runner-up to India at the freestyle meet ended Thursday.
The teenaged wrestlers snatched three golds, two silvers, and two bronzes, giving Iran the second title on 77 points.
India was crowned with three gold, four silver, and three bronze medals, bringing the subcontinent state 90 points.
The host team Japan occupied the third place on 60 points as it won one gold, one silver, and one bronze.
Thirteen teams from Japan, India, Iran, South Korea, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates competed at the Asian event.
