Tehran, June 7, IRNA-Iranian women have a share of 1.3 to 2.6 percent in commercial activities, which is still very low, said Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari in Tehran on Tuesday.
Shariatmadari told a group of women that restrictions and social barriers have prevented women from undertaking a stronger share in social activities.
He said if impediments to women's presence on the cultural and economic scenes are not removed, social progress will be restricted.
Women can play a decisive role in Iran's accession to the World Trade Organization, said the minister.
He added that women can also play a crucial role in e-commerce.
