Abu Dhabi, June 8, IRNA-Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hassan Rowhani, speaking in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, termed his visit to the United Arab Emirates as successful.
Rowhani told IRNA on the threshold of his departure for San'a, Yemen, following a two-day stay here that the UAE officials stressed the importance of close consultation and cooperation with Iran to preserve stability and security in the region.
He said in his meetings with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayid Al Nuhayyan and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed al-Nahayan, the sides agreed to further boost bilateral cooperation in various fields particularly on security and economic issues.
Technical experts of the two sides are to carry out the initial studies to prepare the draft of bilateral cooperation on such areas as fighting terrorism, organized crimes and money laundering, the Iranian official said.
The SNSC chief left Abu Dhabi for San'a Wednesday on the third leg of his four-nation regional tour which has already taken him to Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
Rowhani is scheduled to leave Yemen for Saudi Arabia later on to hold talks with senior Saudi officials.
