Women in Iran, like in the rest of the world, are making it really big. In the past couple of months I have attended a number of involved women groups, NGOs and Civil Society meetings.
The women here are finding a united voice and soon we all will realize the important role we must and do play outside our homes and how this affects our lives. Women here are becoming conscious of their power and potential and are overcoming the social suppression that in many different ways has been imposed upon them throughout the centuries.
Iranian women are slowly but surely moving out, despite it all. The wonderful thing is that this includes women from all aspects of life, and in many parts of the country and of many different age groups.
Iranian women have even been to the top of Mount Everest. The number of dedicated female doctors, university professors, journalists, politicians, lawyers, social workers, artists, scientist, engineers, business and sales executives, film directors, as well as those with more traditional roles like teachers, nurses and home carers who work hard and compete and do so well in their professional fields as well as caring for their social settings, environment, with their concern for other social groups will soon make such an impact of which we shall all be proud and delighted even more.
The critical mass is already there and since the potential has been growing and cultivated, through better health and education for our girls, nothing can stop it now. I am so happy to be here to see all these grass root changes happening and coming up. Please join me and applaud their achievements for a better tomorrow for all.
