Second sound bomb shakes Zahedan

Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan prov, June 14, IRNA-Second Sound bomb exploded on Monday night on a major avenue in the southeastern city of Zahedan but caused no damage.

An informed sources at the provincial police forces said that the bomb went off at 20:50 local time (16:20 GMT).

"A municipality worker was slightly injured in the incident," he added.

The bomb was placed in a trash can and further investigation on the incident is underway, he added.

The first sound bomb exploded on a main street in the southern city of Zahedan at 19:50 local time (1510 GMT) Monday evening.

The Provincial Police commander Brigadier General Nourollah Younesi told IRNA that the blast did not cause any injuries.

"However, it broke the windows of three cars parked on the road and shattered glasses of houses in a 20-meter area," he said.

The incident is under further investigation by the police and security force in the area, he added.

Minister of Information Ali Younessi said here Monday that security forces have tracked down terrorists who were involved in planting four bombs in Ahvaz yesterday morning.

He said that Information Ministry found out links between the bombers and foreign intelligence services.

The minister said that those behind the terrorist bombing in Ahvaz have been identified and some of them arrested.

The terrorist networks will be identified soon and brought to justice, Younessi added.

He drew distinction between Ahvaz bombing and explosion which occurred at Tehran's Imam Hossein Square and said that the terrorist nature of the explosion at the intersection of Safa Street at Imam Hossein Square has not been determined yet.
