Seoul, June 15, IRNA-Iranian ambassador to Seoul said on Wednesday that the value of Iran-South Korea trade exchanges reached 4.5 billion dollars in 2004.
Jahanbakhsh Mozaffari added that the bilateral trade exchanges registered a rise of 26 percent compared to 2003.
He said that the value of Tehran-Seoul exchanges is expected to rise to 5.5 billion dollars in 2005.
Mozaffari said that Iran exported 2.4 billion dollars worth of goods to South Korea in 2004 and imported 2.1 billion dollars worth of commodities from that country during the same period.
The value of Iran's oil export to South Korea stood at 2.1 billion dollars in 2004, accounting for 88 percent of Iran's total exports to that country.
The Iranian envoy added that his country exported 278 million dollars worth of non-oil goods to South Korea during the said period, showing a hike of 106 percent compared to 2003.
Mozaffari said that Tehran and Seoul have signed several economic accords, valued at three billion dollars over the past two months.
