Tabriz, East Azarbaijan prov, June 23, IRNA-Two earthquakes measuring 4 and 3.6 degrees on the Richter scale hit the city of Bostanabad in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, respectively.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, reported that the tremors occurred at 23:56 hours local time (1926 GMT) Wednesday and 08:32 hours local time (0402 GMT) Thursday.
There are no reports of damage to property caused by the quakes, the report added.
With a population of some 108,000 people, Bostanabad is located 57km east of provincial capital city of Tabriz.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
