Tremor shakes Bandar Lengeh, southern Iran
Tehran, Feb 29, IRNA -- A tremor with the magnitude of 3.6 on the open-ended Richter scale hit the outskirts of Bandar Lengeh in the southern province of Hormuzgan on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the provincial seismological base affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 14:17 hours local time (10:47 GMT).

Its epicenter was at 26.79 degree latitude and 54.65 degree longitude.

There are no reports of any possible damage to property caused by the earthquake.

Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic faultlines and quakes of varying magnitudes are usual occurrences.
