Tehran, March 7, IRNA -- A 310-Airbus plane from the Iranian Mahan
airlines skidded off the runway at Tehran International Mehrabad
Airport early Monday morning and sustained slight damage. No passenger
was hurt in the incident.
The Bangkok-Tehran plane of the Mahan airlines went off the runway
with 77 passengers aboard while landing at the airport at 02:15 local
time (2245 GMT on Sunday), said the Civil Aviation Organization (CAO)
in a statement released shortly after the incident.
It added that none of the passengers was injured and all,
immediately and in full health, were transferred to the foreign
flights section of the Mehrabad airport by well-prepared security
personnel.
Forty out of 77 passengers who were scheduled to leave Tehran for
Duesseldorf, Germany, were later sent to their destination by another
flight of the Mahan airlines at 06:44 hours local time (0314 GMT),
said the statement.
It added that an investigation to find out the main cause of the
incident has started by a special team from the Civil Aviation
Organization.
