Khorrambid, Fars prov, March 18, IRNA-Fars Police Department announced on Friday that the crash of one of its helicopters in Kolikosh mountains earlier in the day had left two staff killed and six injured including the police chief of the province.
An informed source at the department's Information Office told IRNA that the killed were the co-pilot and the flight engineer of the helicopter. The source added that Fars police chief Brigadier-General Ahmad Ali-Reza Beigi was among the injured.
The injured, all the personnel of Far Police Department, have been put under immediate treatment at Safashahr Hospital.
The source said the accident occurred when the helicopter was on a traffic patrol over the highly commuted roadways of the province.
There have been no official comment on the cause of the accident, but some reports indicate that the helicopter developed a technical failure and snagged power lines before crashing in Kolikosh heights.
