President Mohammad Khatami on Tuesday visited the Elderly and Disabled House of Kahrizak, in southern Tehran, IRNA reported.

Upon arrival at the center, the Iranian president was warmly welcomed by several disabled and elderly being lodged in the center.

Khatami, in his inspection tour, was accompanied by head of the Welfare Organization Mohammad Reza Rahchamani and head of the Elderly and Disabled House of Kahrizak Mohammad Reza Soufinejad.

The president inspected different sections of the center which is the home to 1,600 elderly as well as mentally and physically disabled people.

Khatami is due to address members of the board of trustee and officials of the center on the sidelines of his inspection tour.
