Tehran, May 3, IRNA-Inflation rate in Iran rose to 16.7 percent in the 11 months to the Iranian month of Esfand (February 19-March 20, 2005).
The price index for consumer goods and services in urban areas (inflation index) rose by 16.7 percent in the first 11 months of the year, compared to the corresponding month last year.
The index price for consumer goods and services rose by 2.1 percent to 295 points after excluding seasonal fluctuations.
Central Bank of Iran (CBI) in a statistical report said that in the month of Esfand, price indices for foodstuff rose by 4.3 percent, for beverages and tobacco by 4.3 percent, for garments by 0.7 percent, for housing and fuel by 0.9 percent and for furniture and services by 1.2 percent.
Furthermore, price indices for medicare and health rose by 0.6 percent, for recreation, study and education by 0.3 percent and for miscellaneous goods and services by 0.7 percent.
