Official: Iran cooperating with WB for information, experience sharing
Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Mohammad Khazaie said here Saturday that Tehran's goal in cooperating with the World Bank is not merely limited to securing finance, rather experience and information sharing.
Addressing a seminar on the executive problems and obstacles to cooperation with World Bank in this southern Iranian island, Khazaie said economic and international impacts of cooperation with the WB is among other objectives Tehran has been pursuing in cooperation with the Bank.
Khazaie said the WB is a well reputed international economic organization in the world, providing countries with financial facilities at the lowest rate.
He stressed that Iran's policy is not merely based on implementing the economic reforms demanded by the WB and thus far, whatever has been decided and enforced in the country, has been based on external factors.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the implementation of economic projects implemented in cooperation with the WB in Iran, Khazaie said the negative effects of this will affect Tehran-WB ties.
The reality is that those opposing Iran-WB cooperation plan to harm Iran in any possible way, he said.
He said Tehran plans to push the payment percentage to a favorable level and expedite the process of implementation of the projects.
