Tehran Art Scene: Farshid Mesghali

By Syma Sayyah, Tehran

Last Friday with a few friends we went to see the very interesting and bright colored works of Farshid Mesghali at Tehran's Golestan gallery.

This time Mr. Mesghali had once again done something new. He is well known for his illustrations in children books, his graphic art as well as many animation films that he has done; besides his paintings, sculptures and his photographic works makes him a very diverse and accomplished artist.

Mesghali has lived and worked in France and USA for many years. His latest exhibition is "Paper Mache" and his use of bright colors brought smiles to the faces of many who had come to see the exhibition at the gallery. These bold colors gave the exhibition a positive aura and good sense lightness for all to feel and enjoy. I have a few pictures of some of the works to share with you.
