Tehran, May 19, IRNA-Two minor earthquakes measuring 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale hit the city of Lamerd in the southern province of Fars in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremors occurred at 06:05 hours local time (0135 GMT) and 04:46 hours local time (0016 GMT).
The first tremor was felt at Lamerd's outskirts, in an area located in 27.62 degree latitude and 52.70 degree longitude while the second one was recorded at 27.77 degree latitude and 52.61 longitude.
There are no reports of damage to property caused by the quakes, the report added.
Iran is situated in one of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
