Tehran, May 22, IRNA-An earthquake measuring 3.9 points on the open-ended Richter scale hit the city of Kazeroun in the southern province of Fars in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 04:24 hours local time (2354 GMT on Saturday).
The epicenter of the tremor was registered on the outskirts of Kazeroun.
There are no reports of damage to properties caused by the quake, the report added.
In Iran, situated on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines, quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
