Tehran, May 30, IRNA-British Gas is keen on participating in Iran's LNG projects, said Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Mohammad-Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian in Tehran on Monday.

Nejad-Hosseinian told IRNA that British Gas (BG) had been reluctant in the past two years to take part in Iran's LNG projects but with the finalization of a number of Iran's LNG contracts, it is following up its contribution to the projects.

He said BG is exclusively willing to contribute to NIOC LNG but there is still a disagreement on its share in the project.

He added that BG wants 40 to 50 percent stake in the project which is not acceptable.

The official said Tehran had proposed BG to take Shell and Total as the model and set up a new LNG unit instead of contributing to the NIOC LNG.

Nejad-Hosseinian further said that BG was willing to undertake a pipeline project to transfer Iran's gas to Kuwait.
