Tehran, May 31, IRNA-Defense Minister Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said in Tehran on Tuesday that the Shabab-3 missile has been tested using solid fuel, stressing that solid fuel increases the range of the missile.
"Using solid fuel would be more durable and increase the range of the missile," he told reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration the first seminar of information and communication technology (ICT) and C4I command and control at Malek Ashtar University in Tehran on Tuesday.
Launching a satellite is in accordance with the decision the system adopts, he said in response to a question whether Iran was going to launch a home-made satellite.
He stated that it does not take a long time to launch a domestically-made satellite, adding that the defense ministry is ready to launch a home-made satellite in less than a year.
The first three-day seminar of ICT and C4I command and control is being held at Malek Ashtar University in Tehran in cooperation with the army, defense ministry, police, Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps, Malek Ashtar, Isfahan and Khaje Nassireddin Toussi universities.
