Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA-Majlis on Wednesday gave its vote of confidence to three ministers proposed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The MPs gave their votes of confidence to nominees for the ministries of cooperatives, education and welfare and social security after four-and-a-half hours of debate.
Of the total 236 votes cast, proposed cooperatives minister Mohammad Nazemi Ardekani obtained 174 votes in his favor, 51 were against, and 11 abstained.
Of the total 247 votes cast, proposed education minister Mahmoud Farshidi obtained 136 votes in his favor, 91 were against, and 21 abstained.
Of the total 254 votes cast, proposed minister of welfare and social security Parviz Kazemi obtained 178 votes in his favor, 61 were against, and 15 abstained.
Voting was done separately for each nominee.
The Majlis debates did not touch on Sadeq Mahsouli, the candidate for the oil ministry portfolio, as he announced his withdrawal in a letter to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad before the deliberations took place.
