TEHRAN, Nov. 11 (Mehr News Agency) - The Academy of Arts is to open the largest center for Iranian art exhibitions in the country, the Persian service of ISNA announced on Friday.
The first exhibit will be held next month entitled "Nature". Several works by Sohrab Sepehri, Abolqassem Saeidi, and works from the Museum of Contemporary Art will be put on display.
The academy and the Saba Art and Cultural Center, which is affiliated to the academy, are currently negotiating with the Mostazafan and Janbazan Foundation, the Bank Keshavarzi (Agricultural Bank), the Bank Melli Iran (BMI), and private collectors to hold their exhibitions of contemporary art at the new center.
The Academy of Arts will provide insurance for the works it displays owned by collectors and public sector organizations.
The exhibition center will be located at the Saba Art and Cultural Center and will have three floors with three large halls. The space was previously a parking lot.
The center will be able to display 500 works and one floor will be dedicated to the art library.
The Saba Art and Cultural Center is located on Mozaffar Street, near Felestin Square.
