Tehran, Nov 19, IRNA-Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in Cairo, Egypt Friday to take part in the Iraq National Reconciliation Conference.
He was welcomed upon his arrival at Cairo's international airport by his Egyptian counterpart and a number of Arab League officials.
The Arab League-sponsored meeting titled `Iraq National Reconciliation Conference' began Saturday morning in Cairo, Egypt.
The conference is aimed at gathering representatives of former Sunni elites as well as the newly empowered Shiite majority and non-Arab Kurds of Iraq to discuss reconciliation in the interest of their strife-torn country.
Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, a Kurd, was scheduled to speak at the opening session of the conference.
Besides the Iraqi leaders, Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk Al-Shara, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika were to attend the meeting.
