TEHRAN, Nov. 21 (Mehr News Agency) -- Two private sector companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will soon begin the construction operations of a gas power plant in Fars Province. The companies' investment would be on the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.
The 735-megawatt power plant consists of six gas units each capable of generating 157 megawatts of electricity, TAVANIR (Iran's Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Management Co.) website reported on Monday.
It is the first time in Iran that a power plant invested by foreign companies is fully built by domestic contractors and developers, the report added.
Construction costs for the power plant that is to be built in the central Iranian province have been estimated to be about 350 million euros, and it will take about three years to complete the plant.
